Hypnotherapy combines hypnosis with other psychological approaches.
Hypnosis is a very natural state which most people have experienced before. It is not unlike being totally absorbed in an exciting book or your favourite television show. Contrary to popular views on hypnosis, you will not be made to do anything you don't want to do and you are in control at all times. Everyone can be hypnotised if they want to be but the level of trance (for want of a better word) that will be achieved varies from person to person.
This altered state allows your unconscious mind to be guided towards your desired outcome and you can learn to 'see' things in a different way. Combining this with other techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) we can look at how you currently think and behave, and work on practical solutions to deal with distorted thinking in order to ensure a brighter future.
